Cottage Details
I’m so happy to share my cozy little 4-season, waterfront cottage with you as a thank you for your business and referrals. Since 2015, it has been my family’s passion project, renovating and decorating it top to bottom. We have made so many amazing memories with our family and friends, and hope you will too!
It can be a vacation or a workation (there is Wifi). You can getaway by yourself, bring the kids, extended family or friends along, and don’t forget your pets. Or how about a girls’ or guys’ weekend? Get some exercise paddling, hiking, biking or skating during the day, and then relax in the hot tub with drinks and a fire at night.
Exterior
Nestled on a 1/2 acre, it’s just 45 minutes from Ottawa. Relax year-round in the hot tub. Savour the lazy days laying in the hammock by the water, or paddling in one of the kayaks. Sit by the stream listening to the birds at the feeder, or admire the otters swimming, and the deer feeding. In the evening enjoy dinner, play cards or admire the sunset in the gazebo. Or roast some marshmallows or hot dogs on one of the two outdoor fire pits.
Your kids will love our own private sandy beach, the tire, baby and child swings, and the 14′ trampoline. They’ll be busy swimming, making sand castles, frog and turtle catching, and fishing off the end of the dock. There is also a fully stocked toy shed with nets, life jackets, water toys and aquariums.
If you are feeling social, it’s just a 30 second walk across our little bridge, over the stream and beaver dam, to the large shared private sandy beach (used only occasionally by residents and their guests). Sandcastles galore, play beach volleyball or badminton. Or chill at a picnic table, or on a towel or beach chair. There is a play structure and another swing set there too.
Spring is amazing with the flowers coming up and the turtles laying their eggs on our shore (4 years in a row so far). The fall with its colours, and cozying up with a book by one of the two fireplaces, is a really special experience. Wintertime has become a real treat because we are lucky enough to have a neighbor who grooms a lap to skate around the entire lake, and also a hockey rink equipped with nets.
Interior
The cottage sleeps 7 (and 11 in a pinch given that both couches are double sofa beds). The open concept design has vaulted ceilings throughout which provide a spacious feel despite its tiny footprint. Not one, but two fireplaces (firewood included) where you can enjoy your morning coffee or evening glass of wine. Enjoy the unobstructed view of the lake from the front deck, or inside from the kitchen or living room.
The kitchen is fully equipped (spices included). The table seats 6, and two more at the breakfast bar. If it’s a rainy or extra cold day, there is a TV with a 350+ DVD collection of your old favourites and Wifi. All bedrooms and the living and family rooms have built-in USB ports. The cottage is also stocked with loads of books, and about every board game you can think of to allow for lots of together time.
